Where to Eat in Miami

We just spent a week in Florida doing all the snacking, and let’s just say—Miami did not disappoint. From hidden neighborhood gems to buzzy hotspots worth the hype, we ate our way through the city to find the best bites. Whether you're craving fresh seafood or Cuban classics, here’s where to eat in Miami.

Sanguich - Starting out strong with Sanguich. The city is known for its Cuban food, and this is one of the best spots you’ll find it. Their pressed Cuban sandwich is amazing. Don’t skip the croquetas or a classic cafecito to round out the meal.

Miami Slice – Miami Slice was ranked 5th in the country’s 50 Top Pizza list last year, and for good reason. Sitting at the counter and watching how delicately each slice is prepared is almost hypnotic— but the real magic is in the bite. Carly’s favorite was the leeks on bacon, and Sara’s was the margarita with the works.

Las Olas – Another solid spot for Cuban food, but fair warning—it can be hit or miss depending on when you go. When it’s good, though, it’s really good.

Cowy Burger - For the perfect smashburger, you have to get Cowy Burger. Just look at that lace! The only thing that would make this place better is if they had an NYC location.

Zak the Baker – Zak the Baker often has lines out the door for their pastries, and while they’re great, the real standout is their tuna melt. It’s the kind of sandwich that makes you want to visit Miami just for a bite. Even if it’s inconvenient, get a baguette to go.

Sunny's Steakhouse – Our favorite meal of the trip was at Sunny's Steakhouse. Check out our full review below, but whatever you do, don’t leave without ordering the duck. It’s hands-down the best dish we had in Miami—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also loved the sausage, parker house rolls, Ko egg, and Kouign-Amann ice cream sandwich. You can skip the potato butter.

Joe’s Stone Crab – If you go to one restaurant in Miami, let it be Joe’s Stone Crab. This institution has been serving refreshing stone crabs since 1913, and it’s a must-visit for anyone in the city. The hospitality is top-notch, and while the crabs are incredible, don’t overlook their fried ½ chicken for just $8.95. Also, more restaurants should give you bibs.

COTE – It’s no secret we love Cote’s NYC location, so of course, we had to do their Butcher’s Feast while in town. Beyond the incredible selection of meats, we’re also huge fans of their Cobb salad, crispy bacon, and—if you’re in the mood to splurge—the wagyu paella is a must-try.

Mandolin – If you want to feel like you’re dining in the middle of Greece, definitely try Mandolin. The Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere and dishes that always taste so fresh make it a must-visit. Request a table outdoors!

Brother’s Keeper – Our favorite bar in Miami is Brother’s Keeper. The vibe is unmatched (think darts and a ton of fish tanks), and the drinks are so fun. Make sure to try the Bread Service Martini, which comes with a croissant on the side—yes, you read that right. It’s a fun, unique twist on the classic martini and totally worth it.

Where to Skip

Boia De – We know Boia De gets a lot of praise, but after trying it, we’d recommend skipping it. While it has a cool vibe and creative dishes, it didn’t quite live up to the hype for us. There are other spots in Miami that offer a better experience.
